The NHS may not have been 'overwhelmed' in a dramatic, totally unfunctioning kind of way, but it's slowly tipping over and the elderly, vulnerable, chronically sick are struggling to get appropriate and even remotely timely treatment and care. We are paying the price for those who are successfully 'living with Covid'. If you're young, healthy and in no need of the NHS, the government's strategy may look like it's working. I feel the same way If my gp sends me to hospital my wait has been on average around 7-10 hrs regularly stuck in my wheelchair waiting to see a doctor.
